— about haven
Haven is a small independent studio making exactly one thing: a place you can open when the noise gets to be too much, and close again without having lost anything.

02
— how it started
One of us was having the kind of year that makes the evenings very long. The other started sending a short paragraph each morning — never advice, never a fix. Just something true and small enough to hold.
After a while there were three hundred of them. Then other people asked to be added. It became obvious that what helped wasn’t the writing itself, but the fact that it arrived quietly, asked for nothing, and ended.
Haven is that text file, given a room to live in. We’ve kept the constraints that made it work: short, unhurried, and finishable. Everything you’ll find here can be completed in the time it takes a kettle to boil.

— principles
01
Nothing autoplays
You start what you want to start. No video rolls, no next episode, no cliffhanger engineered to keep you here another eleven minutes.
non-negotiable
02
No streaks, no scores
Missing a day is not a failure, so we refuse to build the machinery that would tell you it was. There is nothing here to keep up with.
non-negotiable
03
Short enough to finish
Every reflection reads in under two minutes. No practice runs past twelve. If it can’t be finished on a hard day, it doesn’t ship.
a hard limit
04
Free where it matters
The daily reflection and every core practice stay free, permanently. Membership funds the studio; it doesn’t unlock your calm.
forever
05
Easy to leave
One click to unsubscribe, one click to delete everything. We don’t do exit surveys, win-back campaigns, or “are you sure?” theatre.
one click
04
— plainly
Not a religion
People of every faith and none use Haven. Nothing here asks you to believe anything, join anything, or become anything.
Not therapy
We’re writers and practitioners, not clinicians. Haven sits alongside real care — it does not stand in for it, and we’ll say so plainly when you need more.
Not a productivity tool
Rest is not an input to your output. Nothing here will help you optimise anything, and that’s the entire point.
Not a social network
No profiles, no followers, no comments, no feed. Solitude is a feature we protect rather than a problem we solve.
